Bridges and Culverts

LMC completed a 4 year maintenance contract with the Forestry Enterprise in the North of England for work comprising construction of handrails, abutment repair work and masonry bridge crown work. LMC have designed and built pedestrian bridges and offroad vehicular bridges for the National Trust. LMC have undertaken Culvert repair and installation work.

This project involved installing a 900mm diameter pipe to act as a culvert in flood conditions to safeguard the bridge deck. The culvert was clad with local stone which was re-used from the original culvert.

As part of 4 year maintenance contract with the Forestry Enterprise this site is just 1 of 14
where LMC are carrying out handrail installation.

Other maintenance work includes the following :-

Masonry work on abutments, parapets and wing walls
Underpinning work on concrete abutments working, in stream beds
Fixing of steel brackets for timber handrail posts
Repointing of masonry piers
