Boathouses and structures include design and construction of complete boathouses, underpinning foundations.
We have built several complete boathouses on Windermere and the finished product varies according to the clients personal requirements and relevant planning permissions. We undertake the work direct for the client, or through an architect or may construct foundations for other non water orientated building firms.

The type of foundations depend on whether suitable bedrock is found near to lake bed level and will determine whether the foundation needs to be a reinforced concrete or piled foundation. The superstructure is based on a galvanised steel portal frame and is then traditionally clad in timber or stone faced, with a slate roof. We can undertake to apply for the Planning, Encroachment, Environmental Agency permissions all of which are required before any work can take place. This is followed by the design of the foundation and superstructure which is subject to building regulation approval. In addition to building boathouses we also construct small buildings and structures. We have also had experience of underpinning boathouse foundations sometimes carried out in the water, using underwater concrete mixes or by piling.
